Massage Therapy

Doctor guided soft tissue massage therapy

Therapeutic soft tissue therapy is a crucial part of the chiropractic treatment approach. The Chiropractor works closely with our massage therapists to provide detailed notes and instructions for each patient, ensuring that each massage session is specifically tailored to their individual needs and condition.  This collaborative approach helps to enhance the effectiveness of our treatments and promote overall wellness.

Spa Massage vs Therapeutic massage therapy

Spa massage and therapeutic massage are two different types of massage therapy with distinct goals and benefits.  While spa massage is designed primarily for relaxation and pampering, therapeutic massage is focused on treating specific health conditions and promoting overall wellness.

Therapeutic massage is more focused on addressing specific health issues, such as chronic pain, muscle tension, and sports injuries.  This type of massage typically involves deeper pressure and more targeted techniques.  Therapeutic massages can help reduce pain and inflammation, improve range of motion and promote faster recovery from injuries. This particular therapy can be particularly effective when combined with chiropractic adjustments, as it can help reduce inflammation, improve joint mobility, and promote healing and recovery.

Therapeutic Massage Therapy

Our office offers therapeutic massage therapy by our highly skilled therapists.  Therapeutic massage involves working on soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments to alleviate pain and improve overall health and wellness.  It can help a variety of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches and sports injuries.

During a therapeutic massage session, the therapist will use a variety of techniques, such as kneading, stroking and compression, to work on the soft tissues and promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension, and improve circulation.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial release therapy is a specialized soft tissue therapy that involves working on the body's fascia, a network of connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs.  This technique is designed to alleviate pain, improve mobility and promote healing and recovery.

During a myofascial release session, the therapist will use gentle sustained pressure and stretching to release tension and restrictions in the fascia.  This can help improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility and range of motion.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is a specialized massage technique that is performed on pregnant women in a medical setting.  This technique is designed to alleviate discomfort and promote relaxation during pregnancy.  During a prenatal massage session, the massage therapist will target areas of tension and discomfort, such as the back, hips, and legs.  This technique can help to improve circulation, loosen tight muscles, improve sleep quality, which can be particularly beneficial during pregnancy.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic drainage massage therapy is a specialized massage technique that is designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and promote the removal of toxins and waste from the body.  This technique can help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and enhance the immune system's ability to fight infections and illnesses.

During a lymphatic drainage massage session the therapist will use gentle, rhythmic strokes to stimulate the lymphatic vessels and promote the flow of lymphatic fluid. This technique can be particularly beneficial for post surgical patients and for individuals who are experiencing lymphedema, a condition that can cause swelling and fluid retention in the limbs.
